Alexugo

Alexugo is the national language of the Republic of Alexia. It has a Subject-Verb-Object word order, has a vowel focused syllable structure, and thirty-eight sounds.

Consonants

Alexugo has twenty-five consonants:

Nasal: m n [m n ŋ]

Alexugo syllables are characterised into three groups:

All consonants (except ñ) can be used in consonant-vowel syllables, however only n, m, and ñ may be used in vowel-consonant syllables, and can also be singular.

Sentence structure and Word Order

Alexugo word order is Subject-verb-order, and adjectives are placed before the noun. This means that the sentence "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" would read the same way (No hayai rikuiro kitsun pinbe ijo no janu inu) [no ha.yai̯ ɹi.ku.i.ɹo ki.ʦu.n pi.n.be i.ʤo no ʤa.nu i.nu].

Noun Pluralisation

Alexugo nouns are singular, and plural forms will simply have -so [-so] added to the end

Colours

Colours in Alexugo are descriptive. There are no words that mean specifically "red" or "blue", and instead Alexugo uses the suffix -iro [-i.ɹo] after a noun to signify that they are discussing the colour of [noun]. For example, if someone was describing something as a vibrant green, they might say rayim-iro (grass-coloured).
